Fishing Information

Crappie

Crappie fishing is done on any one of over 100 man made brush piles that I have put in the lakes over the past 25 years.

We can be fishing within minutes of leaving the marina.

We use light tackle (9' fly rods with automatic fly reels and #6 line mono).  We fish vertical using jigs and live bait.

Crappie fishing is best from March to December and we do catch a lot of fish even in the the summer months.

The largest crappie caught on board to date: 4 1/2 lb black crappie, 4 lb white crappie.

Catfish

Catfish can be caught in different parts of the lake at different times of the year.

We use 7 1/2' Shakespeare catfish ugly sticks with 3000 Shakespeare reels spooled with 60 lb. test line.

Catfish bite year round. In the spring we bottom fish, in the summer we drift fish and in the winter we bottom fish in the dead forest regions of the lake.

The largest catfish caught on board to date: 82 lb blue catfish, 54 lb flat head catfish.
